Market Street Park (formerly known as Emancipation or Lee Park) contains all of the land bounded by Jefferson Street, First Street N.E., Market Street and Second Street N.E. The land was donated to the City by Paul Goodloe McIntire in memory of his parents in 1917 to be used as a public park. The 1.04 acres of raised land is a public space with many benches, colorful flowers and shrubbery. Market Street Park (formerly known as Lee Park), as well as Court Square Park (formerly known as Jackson Park), are part of the Virginia Civil War Trails.

Court Square Park consists of 0.4 acres and includes all of the property bordered by Jefferson Street, Fourth Street N.E., High Street and the Albemarle County Court Building (location). This property, once known as "McKee's Row", was deeded to the City by Paul Goodloe McIntire in 1919 to be used as a park. A narrow lane which once ran between the County Court Building and the park property was called McKee's Lane. The park also contains well-maintained flower beds and a number of benches.
