Celebrate Valentine’s Day at One of These 8 Romantic Charlottesville-Area Vineyards
These eight Charlottesville-area vineyards provide the perfect romantic backdrop for your Valentine’s Day activities!
The Charlottesville area is home to over 40 wineries on the Monticello Wine Trail, many with stunning, mountain views. Most wineries stay open for business throughout the winter, offering fireplaces and fire pits, as well as heated patios and tents. These cozy spots are the perfect places to enjoy a glass of Virginia wine! Here are 9 wineries in the Charlottesville area with cozy indoor and outdoor seating options:
Located in Crozet, King Family Vineyards is a short and scenic drive west on I-64 from Downtown Charlottesville. Nestled against the backdrop of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, you can enjoy a glass of wine outside at a firepit or inside, next to one of their cozy, indoor fireplaces.
Featuring gorgeous vineyard and mountain views, it's tough to beat the setting of Pollak Vineyards in any season. Toss in some of their award-winning wines, plus a cozy fireplace and you have a perfect recipe for a terrific afternoon in Central Virginia's wine country!
Grace Estate Winery is located in Crozet and has a spacious patio with great views. In the winter time, guests can book an outdoor firepit reservation or stay warm inside next to the fireplace. On Fridays, Grace Estate's hours are extended and they serve the Swiss specialty Raclette, a melted cheese dish served with potatoes, bread, and charcuterie. It's a treat that pairs well with one of Grace Estate's wines!
Located in the eastern portion of Albemarle County, Keswick Vineyards is surrounded by rolling hills and horse farms. Visitors come to Keswick Vineyards to enjoy the award-winning wines and in the winter, they have a large, heated tent for outdoor seating.
Not far from Keswick Vineyards is Merrie Mill Farm & Vineyard, one of the area's newest wineries! In the winter you can reserve a fire pit or book a spot on one of the winterized, heated terraces. Their winter menu specials include s’mores, mulled wine and fondue!
Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyard has breathtaking views that draw visitors throughout the year. When the weather is on the colder side, you can sit in the comfort of one of their enclosed patios or bundle up next to one of their cozy, outdoor firepits.
Glass House Winery has a unique tasting room that will transport you to a warmer place. Their tropical conservatory is open during business hours and is a great spot to enjoy wine and fine chocolates that are made on-site. There are also nine private outdoor tables, each equipped with a propane heater.
Enjoy cozy, outdoor fire pits and warm, indoor seating at Eastwood Farm and Winery, which is a short drive from Downtown Charlottesville. It's a great place to grab a bite to eat as well! Their food menu includes a soup of the day and they offer warm drinks like mulled wine and hot cider from October through March!
The Tasting Room & Tap House at Mount Ida Reserve is another great spot for winter wine tasting. Mount Ida's heated, covered portico, lawn, terraces, and indoor dining spaces are open throughout the colder months. Their small batch wines and craft beers can be paired with shareable snacks, small plates, and entrees from a menu that changes weekly!
